Wifes parents are in a bad way.

my wife's parents are in a bad way.

she went to visit and her mother has alzheimer and father has a hart condition.

they are jws and he quit his job at gm many years ago for 1975. he moved to where the need was great to wait for the end.

Even though the irritated part of me would want to send them an AARP magazine and say its handier than an Awake, I wouldn't do it. There are so many variables. Are they eligible for help? Are they willing to accept it? Why don't the local Witnesses kick in? We know the answer to that. No meetings, no existence in the congregation's mind. And if you're old you are invisible because it just might mean effort on their part to help. Bastards. You must do what you must. To make sure you have a clear conscience. After all, you are not Watchtower robots, you have genuine feeling. Exhaust the government social network available to them before you start putting holes in your own.

Unhappy being asked to give a Disfellowshipped Sister a ride to and from Meetings

i'm pimo, very much against disfellowshipping, and going to a meeting leaves me feeling confused and angry at the best of times.

except an elder asked me on thursday night if i can start giving a ride to a disfellowshipped woman because she lives near me and nobody else from the hall lives in my village.

it seems the elder and his family who have been giving this woman a ride for the past six months can no longer stomach the time it takes them to go out of their way.. i thought all normal publishers weren't to have any contact with disfellowshipped people?

hi everyone, this is my first post.

i studied the bible weekly with a wonderful jw.

i suddenly stopped because things just seemed to be getting stranger.

Many people are looking for answers about God. They often gravitate towards magical teachings that tend to impress rather than inform. Do you think that is how God makes himself known? Many do. But we know God has a name. It's Jehovah. Jehovah wants you to know him which means associating with his people. Jesus said, "Join up fool". We want to do what Jesus says or Jehovah will not listen to your prayers. Jesus says we should attend all the meeting and study hard to know Jehovah. If we don't, his people will hunt us down to make sure they should ignore us when we are drowning.

Questions for review:

1) What are people looking for?

2) How does a "fool join up?

3) What will happen if we don't go to all the meetings and study this crap?

has anybody else noticed a pattern that is here among us outcasts?

there seems to be, on average, a higher level of intelligence here than there is at the kingdom hall.

actually, intelligent conversation seems to be looked down upon among the witnesses.. also, the simple language skills found here seem to be above average compared to those among the witnesses.

My dad never got passed third grade but he saw through the Watchtower bull crap. Its not about education, its about whether or not we allow ourselves to be mesmerized by our desire to appear intelligent.
